Norwood’s SANFLW side suffered a 50-point loss to an outstanding Woodville-West Torrens line-up at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.

The Eagles look the team to beat in the SANFLW competition in 2025, undefeated after eight matches, and Norwood was no match for the relentless visitors in the 8,9-57 to 0.7-7 result.

The Redlegs did well to be in the game at half time, despite the Eagles advantage in territory and disposals, which resulted in seven scoring shots to two.

At the main break it was 2.5-17 to 0.2-2, but after half time Woodville-West Torrens put their foot down with five unanswered goals in the third term to break the game apart.

This was the difference in the match, as the Eagles transformed a 15-point half time lead into an unassailable 45-point advantage at the final change.

Norwood limited the damage in the final term, holding the Eagles goalless until the final two minutes when Imogen Trengove nailed her side’s eighth and final goal.

The Eagles had the four major ball winners on the ground in a clinical performance, with Christina Leuzzi finishing with 25 touches and a goal, while Leah Cutting had 24 disposals and seven clearances.

Jade Halfpenny was once again Norwood’s major ball winner with 21 disposals. Ashlee Gould had 15 disposals in defence.

The visitors won inside 50m 32-30, clearances finished 30-30, but Eagles took 41-35 marks, laid 73-58 tackles, and won disposal 243-197.
