Vale Jim Liebelt

The Norwood Football Club extends its sincere sympathies along with our thoughts and prayers to the Liebelt family after the sad passing of former player, Jim Liebelt.

Liebelt started with the Junior Colts, and was named Best Forward in 1950. The following season he was rated “Most Effective” for the Senior Colts. Playing Reserves by 1952, Liebelt was named Best Team Man in 1953, and Most Improved in 1954.

Jimmy Liebelt played football for the Norwood Football Club between the years of 1954 to 1959 playing 56 games and kicking one goal.

His final League game for the Redlegs was against Sturt, in the last Minor Round of 1959. Jim then went onto coach the Norwood Under 19s in 1966 and 1967.

Jim Liebelt will be missed by all who were touched by his care.
