Vale Rohan Helyar

The Norwood Football Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Rohan Helyar on 9 February 2023.

Rohan joined Norwood in 1981, playing for the under 19s and reserves before he made his league debut in 1983. A tough, running defender he played mainly on a half back flank or at full back.

In 1984 he suffered a broken arm in the preliminary final and despite seeing out the game, was forced to miss the grand final and Norwood’s historic victory over Port Adelaide.

Rohan Helyar played 101 league games from 1983 to 1989 and one State game.

The club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the Helyar family
