VALE Warren Packer

The Norwood Football Club is saddened by the passing of Warren Packer.

Warren was described as a fine club man, playing football for Norwood for 10 seasons and amassing 105 matches from 1968 to 1976.

He was a quick, well balanced ball gatherer who played mostly on the wing.

Warren was the club’s most improved player in 1970 and was in the State Squad by 1972. He played his 100th match in 1975, which was an outstanding achievement, having played a lot of Reserves football during his years at Norwood.

He played in Norwood’s 1974 and 1975 Reserves Premiership.

An Athelstone Football Club junior, he returned to Athelstone in 1977 and won a Premiership with the club.

Warren passed away on October 10 2024, and the club would like to honour and pay its respects to Warren, a great Norwood Football Club person.
