Norwood’s U16 and U18 sides travel to Elizabeth on Wednesday night (August 2) to take on Central District.
The U16s will kick off at 5pm, followed by the U18 game at 7:15pm.
The SANFL has scheduled the Wednesday night matches to fit in around the Adelaide College Football schedule, which has helped Norwood boost its Junior sides, with 10 U18 and 12 U16 players that have College commitments on Saturdays (during the school term).
The U18 side is coming off a solid 42-point win over North Adelaide prior to the weekend’s bye, and have been bolstered with Will Rowlands, Jaidyn Mead, Calem Krollig and captain Jacob Jones back in the team after spending some time in the Reserves.
U16 players Noah Daw and Will Prescott have performed well in the U18s in recent weeks, with Daw being named best on ground and Prescott booting three goals in the U18s win over North.
Jay Polkinghorne is in rare form, kicking five goals against North and complementing it at local A Grade level with bags of nine and 17 goals for Western United in the Western Eyre Football League.
The U16s are coming off a four-point loss to North before the bye, and will be looking for their fifth win of the 2023 season.
Both Redlegs sides will have a challenge on their hands, with Centrals sitting second on the table in both competitions.
Norwood’s League and Reserves sides have the bye this weekend.
