The Norwood Football Club is excited to announce the signing of Amalie Innes, who will join the Redlegs Senior Women’s program in 2025.
Innes heads to Norwood after spending the last three seasons on North Adelaide’s SANFLW list, after transitioning through the junior pathway at Prospect.
She made her SANFLW debut in 2024 and went on to play three League matches and five Development League games with the Roosters this season.
She then played the rest of the season with Division 1 club Golden Grove, going on to win the club’s Best and Fairest award.
Norwood SANFLW coach Brad Ferrall said the 18-year-old would be a welcome addition to his side.
“She’s a good ball user, has good foot skills and makes good decisions. She can play wing, midfield, half back so she has great versatility,” he said.
“I have watched her play a lot at North Adelaide and Golden Grove this year, she won Golden Grove’s Best and Fairest playing off half back.
“Amalie sets up a lot of play and positive and attacking ball movement. We see her as a massive part of our program, for 2025 and into the future. I am looking forward to Amalie joining our program.
“A lot of our players have great leg speed, so Amalie again complements that given that we lost Tesharna Maher over the off season. She fits well into the way we like to play.”
Innes said she was excited to join the club.
“I am so excited to be a part of Norwood,” she said.
“You can really sense the culture at Norwood, even from outside the club you can see that everyone is connected. That’s what drew me here.
“I am keen to meet everyone, and get stuck into pre-season.
“I really gained a lot of confidence at local level this year and I really just had fun. I worried less and took the game on, and had a good season.”
Welcome to the Redlegs, Amalie.
