The Norwood Football Club is pleased to welcome Joeve Cooper from the Murray Bushrangers.
Cooper is an 18-year-old, 174cm small forward from Shepparton, where this year he played Senior Men’s football for the Shepparton Swans in addition to his Bushrangers commitments in Victoria’s U18 Coates Talent League.
He kicked six goals from his 13 games in the Coates League, and for Shepparton’s Seniors was named amongst the best players four times from his nine appearances.
Norwood Coach Jade Rawlings said Cooper had already relocated from Victoria and was keen to get stuck into pre-season next week.
“He’s a small, skillful forward and shown that across the last two seasons with the Murray Bushrangers and in the Seniors at Shepparton,” Rawlings said.
“He’s a very impressive young man, very independent and he’s already moved over as he was keen to get into pre-season with the full group.
“We believe in his ability and character, and think that he will fit into our program really quickly.
“We see him as someone with a lot of potential – he’s keen to be a part of our club and involved in something bigger than himself, which is impressive for us as well.”
Cooper is the fourth signing announced by the club this week, with Mitch O’Neill, Ben Simpson and Billy Cootee calling Norwood home in 2024.
