In the Mix – Who’s pushing for selection in Round Two?

NORWOOD could welcome back a couple of big names for their clash against Centrals on Saturday afternoon.

There will be one certain change at the selection table with Captain Jace Bode sidelined for the next two weeks after dislocating his shoulder in Friday night’s win over Glenelg.

The Redlegs could welcome back key forward Luke Surman who sat out Round One due to a hamstring injury. Surman could come into the side to bolster Norwood’s forward line, however, will need to get through training this week.

After missing Norwood’s trials against the Eagles and Adelaide, key defender Michael Talia did his chances of being recalled no harm after a standout performance in the reserves against Glenelg.

Talia collected 26 disposals in the 19-point win, which included a game high 12 marks.

Up and coming ruckman Henry Crauford performed strongly in his first competitive game for Norwood. Crauford had 36 hit outs and 16 disposals in the Reserves on Friday night.

Youngster Dylan Stephens also showed promising signs in the Reserves last Friday. Stephens collected 35 disposals which included 11 clearances and a goal. Stephens if called upon could push up forward or play through the midfield.

Unfortunately, Norwood will be without Mitch Carter for the remainder of 2019. The key forward injured his shoulder in Norwood’s second trial match against the Eagles and recently underwent surgery.

Norwood will face Centrals in Round Two of the SANFL Statewide Super League this Saturday at X-Convenience Oval.
