William Trembath was an outstanding footballer in his era with the record to prove it; a premiership in 1901, best and fairest in 1902 and regular state representation from 1899 to 1903 including three consecutive victories over Victoria playing at full back

Billy Trembath possessed qualities that would have held him in good stead in any era. He was big, strong, fast and elusive. In his 87 games with Norwood he played on every line and in ruck with equal success.
