Norwood junior Logan Evans has been taken in the AFL’s 2024 Mid-Season Draft, selected by Port Adelaide with Pick 12 on Wednesday night.
The 18-year-old defender – who came through Norwood’s U16 and U18 pathway via the Hectorville Football Club – played four League games with the Redlegs in 2023.
This season he headed to Port Adelaide via the SANFL Rookie Program and played a further four games with the Magpies in 2024, but also remained on Norwood’s Senior List.
He was eligible for the 2023 AFL National Draft, but wasn’t selected. On Wednesday night he was taken by the Power in the Mid-Season Draft.
Evans becomes the second Norwood junior player from the 2023 Draft class to be drafted, alongside Will Rowlands who was taken by Gold Coast in the 2023 AFL Rookie Draft.
