Norwood’s Kiana Lee is in no doubt playing against boys throughout her junior career provided her with the platform to reach her 50th Hostplus SANFLW League game.
The 22-year-old spent seven seasons with Rosewater, playing from U8 to U14 level, as she developed her skills and physicality in rapid fashion.
Speaking on SANFL Radio, Lee said she is now continuing to reap the rewards with the Redlegs as they prepare for the Preliminary Final against Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium on Saturday.
Making her SANFLW debut with Woodville-West Torrens in Round 1 of 2019, Lee spent three seasons with the Eagles before landing at The Parade midway through 2022.
This ”fresh start” was what the talented utility was seeking before battling foot surgery to manage just four League games in her opening campaign with the Legs last year.
But a preseason chat with incoming coach Brad Ferrall encouraged Lee to play a dangerous role on the wing which has resulted in her hitting the scoreboard with 16 goals from her 15 appearances in 2024.
The Powerade Breakthrough Player nominee is now striving for two more wins to close out her exceptional season, starting this Saturday against the Bays.
