SANFL Trial Match Teams

Norwood’s Senior Men’s squad head to Alberton Oval this Sunday for their third trial match of the pre-season. 

The Redlegs started their pre-season trials in Tasmania, claiming a 67-point win over a Tassie Representative side, 16.16-112 to 7.3-45, before their second trial in Elizabeth last Saturday.

Norwood took on Central District in hot conditions, and the Bulldogs recorded a 9.11-65 to 3.4-22 win in trial match two.

This Sunday Norwood plays Port Adelaide to round out its pre-season matches, ahead of Round 1 on Saturday, March 29. Norwood takes on North Adelaide at Coopers Stadium to kick off the year.

Norwood will play six U18s in the Reserves trial, with an extensive injury list building up. While it’s a long list, all-but two players (Ethan Warburton and Baynen Lowe) are expected to return for Round 3.

Eight players, including Matt Ling, Mitch O’Neill, Jacob Newton, Finn Heard and Liam Robinson are expected to play Round 1.

Warburton is expected to return in Round 4 from the shoulder he injured in Tasmania, and Lowe in Round 8 as he recovers from his pre-season shoulder surgery.

The League trial starts at 2:20pm. The Reserves are playing South Adelaide at Alberton from 11:40am.
