Norwood returns from the Bye this weekend, taking on the Adelaide Crows for the first time since last season’s Semi Final.
The Redlegs will go into Sunday’s clash at Coopers Stadium with a strong squad across the board, as they attempt to secure eight consecutive victories at both League and Reserves level.
Baynen Lowe will miss with a knee injury, but Mitch Nicholas, Noah Daw, Daniel Gauci and Josh Murphy have been named as inclusions in the extended squad, following their good form in the Reserves last week.
If selected, Daw will make his League debut, rewarded for his consistent season in defence thus far. The 18 year-old’s averaged 21 disposals and nine marks as a first-year defender.
Nicholas had 34 disposals in the Reserves in Round 9, and Gauci 31, while Murphy kicked two goals.
Mitch O’Neill got through his return game from a hamstring, and will line up once again in the Reserves, while Tom McCallum makes his long-awaited return from knee and ankle injuries that have kept him on the sidelines for more than 12 months.
McCallum will also line up in the Reserves, who take on Sturt at Unley Oval for a second consecutive game.
The Reserves game begins at 10:30am at Unley, before the Redlegs League match at Norwood’s Coopers Stadium from 2:10pm. Home & Away members will be able to attend both matches with their membership cards.
Norwood has placed itself in a strong position at the halfway mark of the SANFL Men’s and SANFL Men’s Reserves seasons, both sides with a 7-2 record.
The League side has been the best defensive team in the competition, averaging just 51 points against, whilst being the third best attacking side (83 points for per game).
Nik Rokahr has been the highest disposal winner in the competition to the half way mark, averaging 30 touches and five clearances a game, while Tristan Binder is equal third on the goal kicking list, with 19 majors from eight matches.
Aaron Francis and Pierce Seymour are both in the top three for marks taken this season, while Kade Dittmar is fourth for tackles, despite playing just seven games.
Norwood also have a debutant in Saturday’s SANFL Women’s Match against South Adelaide, with Kaianne Colbung-Ware confirmed to play her first match at League level.
The Redlegs have named an extended bench, which includes three more potential debutants (if selected), Taylor Hand, Sophie Palmer and Lillian Thomas.
Coby Morgan will play her 50th SANFL Women’s match.
