Norwood is the first side to lock in its place in the inaugural U18 Girls Finals Series, which will get underway later this month.

The Redlegs have secured their spot with one week remaining in the home and away season, following a comfortable victory over Glenelg on Easter Thursday.

Norwood claimed a 35-point win over the Bays at Stratarama Stadium, 8.9-57 to 3.4-22, despite a range of star players out of the line-up due to State U16 commitments.

The Redlegs kicked the first three goals of the game, and cruised to victory with another late burst to get the margin out to nearly six goals.

Norwood had seven individual goal kickers, with Kailee Colbung-Ware booting two.

Kaianne Colbung-Ware dominated for Norwood with 26 disposals and eight tackles, while capatain Molly Sennar had 21 disposals, 11 tackles and seven clearances.

Norwood have a tough game to round out the minor rounds, taking on South Adelaide at Magain Stadium on Saturday, April 18, following the Gather Round bye.

The Redlegs have locked in their finals place with a 5-1 win-loss record to date, but the third placed Panthers have plenty to play for, with their finals spot on the line.

Following the U18 Girls Round 6 match, Norwood’s SANFL Women’s side played a Trial Match at Glenelg Oval taking on the Tigers, and rounding out 6.8-44 to 6.3-39 winners.
