Here’s a glimpse of which Redlegs are in line for landmark games in 2020.
Milestone – 100 SANFL Games
Current Games: 98
The Norwood speedster is currently two games away from notching up his 100th SANFL Game. Arriving from Adelaide in 2014, Wilson has become a fan favourite at the Parade, with his ability outpace his opponents and kick crucial goals. The 27-year-old enjoyed Premiership success in his first year at Norwood and won the goal of the year competition in 2017. Wilson has formed a strong connection with 2018 recruit Dom Barry, which sees them as one of the toughest duos to play against in the SANFL.

The ever-reliable Cameron Shenton will look to notch up his 100th game for the club against Central District in Round 17 at Elizabeth. The ultimate team man, Shenton is a back to back Woods Medallist which is built around the players’ performance, his attitude, commitment value to the club and leadership both on and off the field. Shenton is Norwood’s ‘Mr Fix It’, as his versatility is one of his best traits. The 29-year-old will look to win his first premiership in the Red and Blue in 2020.

Mitch Wilkins is currently enjoying his second stint at the Redlegs since returning to the club at the start of 2018. Another reliable contributor, Wilkins is a popular teammate who portrays strong leadership skills on and off the field. Wilkins is a key member of the Redlegs back six and will no doubt have an even bigger influence in 2020, after the retirements of experienced duo Alex Georgiou and Jace Bode.

18 games for Glenelg and 11 for Port Adelaide, Dom Barry made the switch east to join Norwood for the 2019 Season. Barry has made an instant impact since joining Norwood, winning the Channel 7 Goal of the Year after a sensational boundary line effort against the Crows in Round six. Barry’s run and carry excited the Norwood faithful which saw him finish fourth highest for disposals (18.7 per game) and third for goals kicked (22). Barry is likely to play his 50th SANFL game in Round One against North Adelaide.

The durable midfielder/forward has only missed two League games since joining Norwood for the 2018 season. A proven goalkicker, Hamilton’s sense of awareness and ability to hit the scoreboard at critical moments is something the Norwood fans love and admire. At 23, Hamilton has plenty more to give and will be looking for more of an opportunity as a pure wingman in 2020. The former Western Bulldog’s ability to bring players into the game and link up is a terrific trait heading into the 2020 season.

The classy defender cemented his spot in Jarrod Cotton’s best team last season, which has made it a longer road to 50 games than he would have envisaged. He’ll be hoping to get off the mark early as he’s just three games shy of the half-century. Richards’ ability to provide drive off half-back is always a positive, as he continues to develop into the fine player he is.

The imposing defender has been impressive since arriving at the Parade in 2018. Talia had a rather injury-interrupted first year, however played 18 games out of a possible 20 in 2019. The former Swan will become one of the most experienced defenders with the retirement of Alex Georgiou and Jace Bode at the end of 2019. Talia is a consistent performer who reads the play well taking the oppositions best key forward. The 26-year-old will again have a big role to play in season 2020, as he looks to lead the way after taking out the Coaches Team Acts award last season.
