After going down to Glenelg on Sunday, will Norwood look to change things up ahead of the clash with North Adelaide?
Norwood media looks at those in the mix to take on the Roosters.
Norwood could unveil off-season recruit Ryan Bastinac for Saturdays Round Two encounter with North Adelaide. Bastinac performed strongly in the Reserves 22-point loss to Glenelg last Saturday. Bastinac’s 164 games of AFL experience will no doubt be a big plus factor for Jarrod Cotton’s side.
Experienced defender Michael Talia could also come under strong consideration at selection after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained two weeks ago. Talia played 18 games for Norwood in 2020 and could add some extra more height to Norwood’s defence to play on either Alex Barns or Mitch Harvey.
Will Abbott had a much-needed run in the Reserves last Saturday and got through the game as well. He will look to put hand up for Senior Selection for the first time in over a year. Abbott’s midfield grunt is something Norwood love and will look to complement Mitch Grigg, Richard Douglas, and Matthew Panos on the inside as a defensive midfielder. Abbott will need to get through training this week to be a chance of selection.
Former Panther Codey Ellison could also be a chance for selection after being named the best player in the Reserves last week if senior Coach Jarrod Cotton decides more height will add value to our team.
Norwood’s clash with the Roosters will be live and free on Channel 7 starting from 3:05pm.
