It has been a tough couple of weeks for the Redlegs falling by three and two points respectively to Glenelg and North Adelaide. Despite Norwood’s tough start, round 3 is firmly in the players sights, as the Redlegs look to record their first win of 2020.
Senior Coach Jarrod Cotton will be forced to make at least two changes due to Cole Gerloff and Nick Pedro both missing with ankle injuries.
With Nick Pedro out, Isaac Saywell could come under consideration for his first senior game at selection this week. The youngster performed admirably in the Reserves 15-point loss to North on Sunday and could be a direct replacement for Pedro playing any number of positions.
Norwood may also look to bring in key defender Michael Talia who got through Sunday’s Reserves match unscathed. Talia would be a valuable addition down back which could free up Cam Ball, Cameron Shenton or Brad McKenzie.
Former Panther Codey Ellison is another pushing for selection after another strong performance in the Reserves last Sunday.
Ellison could play a variety of roles adding value down back, forward, or even in the ruck.
Defender Jack Heard, was another who performed quite strongly last weekend and this could see him earn his first senior game as a running defender.
The Redlegs face Woodville West Torrens on Sunday afternoon at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval with the first bounce commencing at 2:10pm.
