Callow to collaborate with Norwood

The Norwood Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of key position utility Jackson Callow for the 2021 SANFL Season.

Callow, a Tasmanian product played his club football with North Launceston in 2020 and has featured prominently for the Tasmanian Devils as an emerging 17-year-old.

The 18-year-old was considered close to the state’s best chance at last years AFL Draft but went unselected in national and rookie drafts.

The strong-bodied tall clunks plenty of contested marks each game and is a strong kick for goal.

In 2020 Callow played 10 games for the Bombers booting 10 goals despite missing six games due to injury. He featured for North Launceston in the Grand Final, however, the Bombers fell that day to Launceston by 13- points.

After spending his most of his football career in Tasmania, Callow joins the Redlegs with a point to prove and is eyeing success with Norwood in 2021.

“Joining the Redlegs is an honour,” said Callow.

“After spending my junior years in Tasmania, I wanted to test myself in the best league outside the AFL and test myself against bigger bodies so I can learn more and ultimately improve as a player.

“Speaking to Jade, he is a fantastic mentor and is someone I am really looking forward to working with.

“I look forward to meeting the boys, coaches and doing my best to play my role for the team and the fans.”
