PHILIP GALLAGHER – Already an incredible history with the Norwood Football Club and the SANFL, Gags has recently been honoured with AFL Life Membership. A current Norwood & SANFL Hall of Famer, 4 time Norwood Premiership Player and a Member of the NFC Team Of the Century.

Philip’s involvement in the game in South Australia spans five decades and his CV reads like royalty playing 292 times for the Redlegs, kicking 216 goals & Premierships in 1975, 78, 82 & 84. He captained the Club in 81 & 82 with saw him awarded Life Membership in that year also. Post playing days Phillip became an outstanding administrator of the game. Roles have included Match Committee Selector, Board Member, Chairman of the League, Director and SANFL Commissioner.

 

JADE RAWLINGS – Current coach of The Norwood Football Club, Twig joined the NFC from North Melbourne where he served as Senior Assistant Coach. His coaching career started at Richmond in 2007. Also, a 2 year stint at the Brisbane Lions in 2010 &11. Formerly from Tasmania, Jade played a total of 143 AFL games for Hawthorn, the Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne.

In his first year as coach Twig rebuilt Norwood game plan into a high-pressure high tackling team that returned the Redlegs to the finals. With another “Trademark” preseason under their belt, Twig will drive his squad to take the next step and be right amongst the September action in 2022.

 

MICHELANGELO RUCCI – A stalwart in sport’s journalism. “Rooch” was the longest serving chief Football writer for The Advertiser, pioneering the reporting of both AFL and SANFL football for many years.

More broadly in the sporting world he has also covered the 2000 Summer Olympics and was involved in the International Field Hockey federation. In 1999 Rucci published and co-authored “Dynasty: A legend, a family, and the Port Adelaide Football Club” – a story about the great FOS Williams and his and his families impact of the Port Adelaide Football Club and Football in general.

Today Michael spends his time as a football analyst for InDaily and on-air SEN 1629 weekdays with Kym Dillon on the run home with Kymbo and the Rooch.
