NORWOOD has suffered it’s first defeat in three games, falling to 2020 Premiers Woodville West Torrens by 47-points on Saturday afternoon.
After what was a promising start by Norwood who controlled most of the contest throughout the first term, the Legs were unable to run with the classy Eagles who ran away with the contest after the quarter time break.
The hosts piled on four majors in the second term in contrast to Norwood’s two behinds, which set the tone for the remaining half of football.
Norwood kicked the first two behinds of the third term and were made to pay minutes after Jake Von Bourtouch and Tyson Stengle capitalised on their opportunities.
Cameron Shenton gave the Redlegs fans something to cheer about 10 minutes into the third term as he made no mistake from a long-range effort from 50 metres, however it was the hosts who were ruthless in attack as Daniel Menzel and Joseph Sinor ended the quarter the perfect way for Woodville.
Redlegs star Richard Douglas kicked Norwood’s only goal of the final term, as the Eagles continued in their ways to boot three more goals, to run our comfortable winners by 47-points.
Douglas finished with 29 disposals, eight marks and a goal while emerging youngster Henry Nelligan accumulated 25 possessions, seven marks and a major.
