Team News SANFLW Round 7 – Norwood VS Centrals

NORWOOD has made five changes at the selection table for this Saturdays match with League new-comers Central District.

After a narrow 11-point win against Glenelg last Saturday, Coach Steve Symonds has made five forced changes.

Defensive pair Cassie Tsoumbris and Matilda Van Reil have been ruled out after suffering ankle and shoulder injuries, while tall forward Jo Hill won’t play any part either after suffering a bruised hip in last weekend’s match.

Consistent duo Ebony O’Dea and Kate Fenton have been ruled out due to being unavailable, however Coach Steve Symonds concedes the pair should miss just the one match.

Of course, with many outs it presents an opportunity for those girls who have performed well in the Reserve side.

Amber O’Donnell will make her League debut for Norwood on Saturday, while the Lady Legs will welcome back important midfielder, Najwa Allen.

The hard-running Jessica Macolino returns to the side after not featuring in the League side last week, while Ellen D’Alessandro could be in line for her first game, however, is named on the extended bench.

Jane Fitzgerald will play her first of the year at Elizabeth on Saturday, while Lindsay Bigg and Ella Murison both return where they are named on the extended bench.

Norwood have also been dealt a double blow with Simone Schirmer and Emma Clarke both ruled out for the rest of the season.

Schirmer ruptured her ACL, while Clarke injured her ankle and required immediate surgery.

We wish both of those girls the best of luck on their recovery.
