Norwood will play its final minor round match of the 2023 SANFLW season on Saturday afternoon at Coopers Stadium, starting from 12pm.
The Redlegs have already qualified for the finals series – currently in third position – and will take on the top of the table South Adelaide in the Round 12 clash.
Norwood can finish as high as second on the ladder (which would mean a double chance) if results fall its way – if Norwood defeats South and second placed Central District loses to bottom placed West Adelaide.
If the Redlegs remain third they will host the fourth placed team in the first final, which will likely be the winner of the Round 12 match between Glenelg (fourth) and Sturt (fifth).
For the South Adelaide game, Norwood welcomes back Adrienne Davies, Alana Lishmund, Millie Yardley, Emma Clark and Jazmine Egan in an extended squad.
Ashlee Gould (personal) and Sarah Branford (finger injury) are out of the team.
The Round 12 match against the Panthers will be a great test for the Redlegs, who are one of the in-form teams of the competition.
Since starting slowly (0-3 win loss record after the opening three games), Norwood has gone on to win seven of its last eight matches to currently sit third on the ladder with a 7-4 record and the best percentage in the League (58.7%).
This Saturday Norwood will have to face the most defensive side in the competition, with South letting through an average of just 24 points per game.
Norwood has the second best defense (28 points against per game).
Despite having a win-loss record of 9-2 South Adelaide are ranked sixth in attack (27 points per game), while Norwood is ranked second (39 points per game) behind Central District (41 points per game).
Norwood lost to South Adelaide in the Round 2 meeting, 3.5-23 to 3.0-18 in Noarlunga.
