Norwood has yet another must win SANFLW match this Saturday morning, taking on Glenelg at Coopers Stadium in Round 13.

The Redlegs sit seventh on the SANFLW ladder with two matches remaining, but are still well and truly in the hunt for the last finals spot which is currently being chased by four clubs – Sturt, Central District, West Adelaide and Norwood.

Amazingly, only one club sits outside of finals contention in the dying stages of the season, that being Norwood’s Round 13 opponents in the Tigers, who last week did the Redlegs, Bulldogs and Bloods a favour by beating the fourth placed Double Blues. Norwood went down to reigning premiers South Adelaide by 15 points in Round 12.

Last week, Glenelg claimed its second win of the season, over Sturt 4.9-33 to 4.4-28 and the Redlegs can’t afford to underestimate the Tigers this weekend.

Norwood defeated Glenelg on a wet and wintry night at the Bay back in Round 6, claiming an 11-point win, 2.7-19 to 1.2-8 – a game that the visitors controlled from the outset, but struggled to slam the door on the bottom placed Tigers.

The Redlegs must win both of its matches against Glenelg and Central District (and rely on other things going their way) to progress through to the finals series.

Norwood will debut a second player in as many weeks, with Kyah Jaffer coming into the side.

Jaffer has been an outstanding competitor at Development League level over the past two seasons and will line up in the middle on Saturday in her first League game.

Alongside her will be Lani Cocks, the 15-year-old who debuted in fine form last week with 14 disposals and a goal.

Also coming into the side is Elle Lineage and Grace Whittaker, while Kate Alexander (State Football), Georgina Birchall (Uni Exams) and Nicola Burns (Back Injury) are out.
