Norwood snapped a four-game losing streak in emphatic fashion at Norwood Oval on Saturday, smacking the third placed South Adelaide by 95 points.
Not many would have predicted the 17.18-120 to 3.7-25 result, despite the Redlegs fielding a far stronger side than they’d managed to in previous weeks.
The school holidays allowed Norwood coach Alex Newell to make 14 changes to the Round 11 side which lost to Woodville-West Torrens, and showed on Saturday what the full squad was capable of.
The Panthers kicked the first goal of the day, but from there Norwood was flawless, kicking seven of the next eight to lead by 34 points at the main break.
The Redlegs were a runaway train after half time, kicking 10 goals to one to secure their fourth win of the season.
Joseph Nak booted three goals for Norwood, while Tom Waugh, Oliver Easton, Harvey Pearce, Eddie Sorensen and Sachin Tyrrell each kicked two.
Will Tanner gathered 27 disposals, Waugh 24 and Tom Neal 23 in a good day for the Redlegs.

Norwood’s U16s have now won three of its last four matches, following a 12-point win over South Adelaide on Saturday.
There were five lead changes throughout the Round 12 match, but in the end the Redlegs were in front when the final siren sounded on the 10.13-73 to 9.7-61 result.
Norwood trailed by one point at the final break, but goals to Theo Poulton and Harrison Tink tipped the home side back in front early in the fourth term.
From there the Redlegs could only manage seven more behinds for the match, to South’s one goal, but it was enough to hang on for victory.
Zayd El-Hosni kicked 3.3 from 21 disposals, as Norwood’s leading ball winner alongside Patrick Boehm, who also had 21 to go with nine clearances and eight hitouts.
The Redlegs take on the top of the table Glenelg at Norwood Oval on Saturday, in what is a quadruple header – U16 9am, U18 11:20am, Reserves 1:50pm and League 4:30pm.
