Jamie Smyth breaks goal record

Norwood 31.6-192 def West Adelaide 1.1-7

Norwood’s Jamie Smyth scored 24 goals on Friday night in the Redlegs smashing 185-point win over West Adelaide, breaking the SANFL Wheelchair Football League’s goals record.

Smyth broke the record last year with 19 goals in a match, but be bettered that performance by five.

Norwood’s other seven goals were scored by captain Grant Leonard, in what coach John Musolino described as a “great team effort” post game.

The Redlegs have won their first two matches of the 2026 season, defeating the Eagles last week in a grand final rematch, and then putting the Bloods to the sword in Round 2.

Norwood have Central District in Round 3, and Smyth will be keen to score another bag against his former club.
