Bruce Jose Djite – born in 1987 in Virginia USA the family moved to Sydney when he was 3 years old with his father accepting a role at the University of Western Sydney as a Professor of Sociolinguistics, Translation & Interpreting.

When Bruce was 6 years old he returned to his father’s birthplace, the Ivory Coast which had a significant impact on him. This is when he learned to play football. Upon his return to Australia a few months later he joined the Lindfield Under 7’s.

After starring in the junior ranks in Sydney Djite would progress to the A-League via the AIS.

2006 At 19 years of age Djite signed with Adelaide United and a star striker for the Young Socceroos

2008 Played in the Australian Olympic Football team  & signed with Turkcell Super League

2010-11 Djite returned to A-League Gold Coast United then 2011-12 he returned to Adelaide United.

2011 saw him on loan to Chinese Super League

2012 Djite contributed to the AFC Champions League victory against South Korea K-League

2016 Signed with Korean Club Suwon FC

Djite has played all over the world, here, Turkey, China & Korea. The sport has introduced him to a broad range of people and cultures. He believes the sport breaks down barriers and brings people together like nothing else through multiculturalism and diversity.

Post Playing in 2019 Bruce took up the role of Football Director at Adelaide United and today we are lucky enough to see him as the CEO at the Committee for Adelaide which aims to bring together businesses, industry bodies, community and government. He is the Deputy Chair of the West Beach Trust and sits on the boards of the SA Multicultural Commission and the Australia Day Council of SA. A football analyst on Network 10 and paramount Plus and an Ambassador for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Guests will enjoy a 2-course meal and a 3-hour beverage package commencing June 24th, 2022, at 12.30 for 1.00 pm. Cost is $110 per ticket or $1000 per table of 10.
