On the back of the successful FORTIS ARMY march in 2021, the Club has decided to make the last home game every year feature a supporter guard for the team as they run out. Each year this match will now be known as the FORTIS Match.
This Friday night’s game against Glenelg is a massive game for the club, with a top 3 and finals double chance on the line. We are calling on all supporters to “Do Your Bit”, at Coopers Stadium on Friday and get behind the team as they look to make it 8 wins in a row.
The feedback from the players who ran through the Fortis Army guard last year was that it really inspired them and helped drive them to victory. With so much to play for another FORTIS Guard would no doubt inspire the team once again.
So, this Friday night August 12th we call on all supporters to get to the game, wear Red and Blue and be part of the FORTIS Guard for the players to run through. As soon as the reserves game finishes at approx. 7.15pm and reserves players are off the ground, supporters will be welcomed by the ground announcer onto the ground to form the guard of honour along two lines clearly marked by flags.
The diagram below shows the position of each guard line. It is important that supporters form the guard lines quickly and are in position by 7.25pm. The team will run out at 7.28pm through the guard as everyone gives them a huge cheer and uplifting experience.
As soon as the team has run through supporters will need to vacate the playing surface promptly via the gates indicated in the diagram below. Children of all ages are welcome; parents please take responsibility for accompanying them on and off the ground quickly.
Like last year this will be a great experience for all supporters in attendance, as well as the coaches and players. Be part of another piece of Norwood History, get to The Parade this Friday and “Do Your Bit” for the Red and Blue!!
