SANFL has announced the first seven rounds of the women’s League for Season 2022.
The first seven rounds will provide Norwood members and supporters the chance to watch the women with four matches at Coopers Stadium.
Round one will begin on February 4 against reigning Premiers Glenelg in Friday night footy at The Parade.
The Redlegs then travel to Elizabeth in Round two, before hosting the Eagles back at Coopers Stadium on Saturday the 19th of February.
Norwood will face rivals South Adelaide on the 26th of February at Flinders University Stadium, while the South-eastern Derby between Sturt and Norwood will be played at Hisense Stadium on Saturday the 5th of March.
Season 2022 will also see the commencement of the SANFL Women’s Development League which will see essentially a Reserves competition played before the League matches.
CEO James Fantasia said he was pleased to see the expansion of the women’s competition.
“It’s fantastic to see the SANFL Development League within the Women’s competition in 2022,” said Fantasia.
“Not only does this give our fans the opportunity to watch more women’s football, but it also allows fans to see the next wave of stars progress through the ranks.
“It’s pleasing to see our women return to Coopers Stadium for four home games over the first seven rounds and hope we can turn Coopers Stadium into a fortress during the 2022 season.
“We welcome the 2022 fixture and look forward to seeing our women in action this year.”
This is also a great opportunity to help support our Female Football Programs by signing up as a Norwood Women’s Member.
