Club Statement

From the CEO – Coronavirus and Season 2020

I would like to update you on the ongoing situation involving coronavirus (COVID-19).

We understand the situation involving COVID-19 is constantly evolving day-by-day and we want to keep you informed about the situation.

Yesterday afternoon the SANFL announced the 2020 Statewide Super League season will be postponed until May 31.

As difficult as it may be to contemplate, the club is in full support of the SANFL’s decision.

Our goal is to resolve this uncertainty as quickly as we possibly can, to enable you to plan your season accordingly. I know you understand just how unpredictable this situation is, and we really do appreciate your patience as we work our way through it.

As a football club, I can ensure you that we have implemented several protocols in which we aim to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Whilst we are governed by the decisions made, the club will ensure that the health of its players, administration, support staff and members is of the highest priority as we deal with this unprecedented situation.

We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding of our loyal Members, supporters and partners as we work with the SANFL and local health agencies to ensure the continued safety and well-being of the entire Norwood community.

I still encourage and implore any Norwood supporters to take up a membership to demonstrate your support of our football club in these very unusual and difficult times.

We will do our best to keep you informed of any developments as quickly as we possibly can.

Take care,

James Fantasia
