Get ready to ‘Gather’ at Coopers Stadium

The AFL has released the full details for its inaugural ‘Gather Round’ next year, revealing the match-ups, dates, times and venues for the Round 5 2023 South Australian footy fiesta, taking place over April 13th -16th.

In what is another historical moment for the Norwood Football Club, two of the nine matches will be held at Coopers Stadium on The Parade Norwood.

Fremantle will face the Gold Coast Suns in a Friday twilight slot before the Giants and Hawks clash on Sunday afternoon at The Parade.

Norwood Oval will be on the National stage with the magnificent new state of the art VALO LED light Towers lighting up Coopers Stadium on National Television and in front of anticipated Full House Crowds.

Norwood CEO James Fantasia said, “Now being a venue with AFL standard LED Lighting and Boundary Ribbon thanks to VALO, as well as our large Super Screen, the fan experience and game atmosphere at Norwood Oval was of great appeal to the AFL.”

“Also exciting is that Norwood Oval’s Main Canteen will receive a significant upgrade after the Norwood Payneham St Peters council approved $500k in funding. The Coaches Boxes and Media Centre in the Western Stand will also receive upgrading in readiness for the matches” Fantasia Adds.

“The Wolf Blass Community Centre facilities and all of the other recent redevelopment work across all Football Changerooms make Norwood Oval a venue ready to host two AFL level games”.

“South Australians love their footy, and with no SANFL or metropolitan community matches that weekend, Norwood Oval gets to showcase all of these great features in front of very large crowds and on national television. It will be a great four days of celebration, fun and a true festival of footy with Norwood Oval playing a significant role”

To ensure all matches are very accessible for fans the AFL has confirmed all competing club members would get free entry to their club‘s match.

Non-competing members and general public tickets will be capped at $30 for adults and $20 concession (15-18 years old), while kids (under 15) can enter for free.
