NORWOOD is likely to unveil off-season recruit Ryan Bastinac for Saturday’s clash with North Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Bastinac, who spent last week in the Reserves to gain valuable minutes is a chance to bolster the Redlegs midfield which will surely excite Redlegs fans from wherever they may be watching.
The 29-year old re-joined Norwood a fortnight ago and is ready to continue his football journey in 2020.
The Redlegs will also welcome back tough midfielder Will Abbott who has not played a senior game for Norwood in over a year.
Abbott was a standout in last Saturday’s reserves clash with Glenelg and is likely to rotate throughout the midfield and up forward.
Abbott’s tackling pressure and sense for goal will be a welcomed addition to the Norwood starting 22.
Key defender Michael Talia has also been named in the squad of 25. Talia will need to prove his worth at training to be selected to face the Roosters on Saturday.
Former Panther Codey Ellison is also a chance to make his Norwood debut after impressing coaches last Saturday against the Bays.
Ellison possesses height and versatility which may come under consideration when picking the squad of 22.
Unfortunately, Norwood will be without Lewis Johnston who sustained a quad injury in the loss to Glenelg last Sunday. Johnston will be sidelined for at least two weeks.
The first bounce is scheduled for 3.05pm. For those fans who are unable to attend the match; it will be broadcast live on Channel 7 Adelaide and SANFL Digital Pass.
Norwood’s Reserves will be in action on Sunday afternoon at 2:10pm at Coopers Stadium, while the Under 18s will play before at 11:30am.
