The Norwood Football Club would like to advise its members and supporters that due to circumstances related to COVID it will not be able to wear its 2021 Indigenous Guernsey for tonight’s game.
Unfortunately, the indigenous guernseys that the team was planning to wear tonight have been held up by the COVID related restrictions and lockdowns impacting the country currently. Whilst all efforts were made to have them arrive in time for the match it, unfortunately, will not be the case. The club will still celebrate Indigenous Round with several traditional ceremonies planned before the game, including a welcome to country and cultural dance by Indigenous Performers as well as a tribute to Indigenous footballers who have worn the Norwood Jumper over our history.
It is planned to continue to celebrate Pitjantjatjara-Yankunytjatjara culture and wear the Indigenous jumpers created by Dom Barry and his Mother Joanne Ken in Round 15, our next home game against Woodville West-Torrens.
