Norwood will be gunning for a fifth straight victory when it takes on Sturt at Richmond Oval on Saturday, but the Double Blues will once again be planning to stop the Redlegs momentum.

Norwood has won five of its last six matches, with its only loss in that run coming against the Double Blues back in Round 7.

On that occasion, Sturt dominated most aspects of the King’s Birthday match at Unley Oval, running out 6.4-40 to 3.5-23 winners, keeping Norwood goalless after half time.

The Redlegs have been the in-form team of the competition, with wins against reigning premiers South Adelaide and the undefeated Woodville-West Torrens, as well as Glenelg and Central District to dethrone the Eagles at the top of the SANFL Women’s ladder.

Sturt sits in third place, and is coming off a draw against the Eagles in a 7.8-50 apiece match at Unley last Saturday.

Norwood will be celebrating Lana Schwerdt’s 75th SANFL Women’s match, who has been an incredibly consistent performer at League level since her debut back in 2021.
