NORWOOD has named experienced defender Mitch Wilkins and bustling forward Lachlan Pascoe as part of its 22-man squad to face Central District on Saturday afternoon.
After making his League debut back in 2016 for Norwood, forward Lachlan Pascoe returns to the senior set-up after stringing together some impressive performances in the Reserves.
The 21-year-old leads the Reserves goalkicking with 17 goals as well as the contested marks category with 12 for the season.
Football Services Manager Rob Harding said it was a fitting reward for Pascoe who had been close to a senior call up over the past few weeks.
“The Pascoe story is just a fantastic one,” said Harding.
“After biding his time and working hard at Reserves level, Lachlan gets a fantastic opportunity to represent the club at League level on Saturday.
“His form this season has been fantastic and has been very close to a senior call up over the past few weeks.
“As a club were stoked for Lenny and no doubt, we and the fans are looking forward to seeing him in action this Saturday.”
Senior Coach Jade Rawlings has also recalled experienced defender Mitch Wilkins who was impressive in the Reserves victory over South Adelaide at Noarlunga.
Wilkins replaces defender Jacob Collins who misses due to concussion, while forward Cole Gerloff will not feature against Centrals after being omitted.
In Reserves news Norwood will officially unveil new ruckman Tyrin Book from the Brighton Bombers. Book will assist in filling the ruck void left by injured duo Henry Crauford and Finn Heard.
NT recruit Jonty Patrick will also make his Reserves debut this weekend since joining Norwood at the start of 2021. Patrick will add poise and dash to the Reserves line-up as they look to record back-to-back wins.
Norwood has also promoted Under 18 Connor Kent after another string showing against Central Last weekend. Originally from Hectorville FC, Kent continued his strong form this year by collecting 38 disposals at 84 per cent efficiency while also booting three goals in the Redlegs’ win.
Norwood face Central District in ‘Count Me In Round’ on Saturday the 26th of June at Coopers Stadium beginning at 2:10pm.
