Team Selection – Redlegs name squad to tackle Eagles

NORWOOD will make at least two changes to its squad to face reigning Premiers Woodville West-Torrens in Indigenous Round on Sunday afternoon.

After a crucial victory against Sturt last weekend, the Redlegs will be looking to record their third win in a row.

The task will need to be completed without tough youngster, Mitch Cotter who suffered an MCL injury in the 26-point win against Sturt.

Along with the absence of Cotter, livewire forward Xavier Tranfa will also miss the trip to Woodville due to personal reasons.

Senior Coach Jade Rawlings has named five potential inclusions to face the Eagles.

Marking forward, Luke Surman could play his first game for Norwood since Round 13, 2020. Surman arrived from Port Adelaide last week and was important in the Legs Reserves win against Sturt.

Tough midfielder, Jed Spence has also been named after a string of impressive performances at Reserves level, while Jack Kelly also been named after a solid outing last weekend.

Forward Lachlan Pascoe could play his first League game of 2022 after a strong month of football returning from a knee injury, while Matt Vardanega has also been named in the squad of 25.

The Redlegs face the Eagles in Indigenous Round this Sunday at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval from 2:05pm. The game is live and free on Channel 7.
