Norwood duo Jade Halfpenny and Shai Hiscock bring up their 50-game milestones during this Saturday’s SANFLW match against West Adelaide at Coopers Stadium.

Speaking with the SANFL’s Zac Milbank Hiscock said she was proud of the milestone.

“It’s pretty special, especially to play at Norwood, I love that club and the girls,” she said.

“It’s really cool to play my 50th game alongside Jade, she’s a great footballer and am honoured to share this with her – she’s someone I look up to as a footballer.”

Hiscock started with Port Adelaide in the SA Women’s Football League in 2017, before being selected in the U18 State team and finding her way out to Norwood in 2020.

She said she loved the team aspect of football, and the rough and tumble nature of the sport.

“I am not the most skillful player, so I have to put my head over the ball and give it to the players that can do something with it,” Hiscock said.

Halfpenny was also stoked to bring up 50 SANFLW games this Saturday.

“I have been around Norwood for a while so to play 50 games for Norwood and with so many friends is special,” she said.

“There’s nothing better than Friday or Saturday night home games at The Parade, so to be able to play in front of a home crowd is exciting.

“Shai and I get along really well so to be able to share this milestone with her and to come through the years at Norwood with her is special.”

Halfpenny grew up playing basketball, and transitioned into football at Golden Grove in 2017, before heading to Norwood in 2020 – making her debut alongside Hiscock.

She spent several years on Port Adelaide’s AFLW list, playing six AFLW matches in 2022 and 2023.

“It was amazing, it was really cool to play and train with professional players and elite standards,” she said.

“To be able to pursue that goal and dream of mine is special, and something that I am proud of.”
